Privacy Policy, Attention-Ready Schools
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
Last updated: [LAST UPDATED DATE]
This Privacy Policy explains how The Attention Institute Inc. ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit attentionreadyschools.com (the "Site"), request our free resources, enroll your school, book a call, take part in our podcast, or contact us. Attention-Ready Schools™ is a professional development program for K–12 educators. It is not medical care or diagnosis.
1. Who we are and how to reach us
- Data owner / controller: The Attention Institute Inc.
- Mailing address: 425 Town Plaza Ave, Ponte Vedra, FL 32081
- Email: raghu@attention-institute.com
- Phone: 904-842-4632
2. Who this Site is for
The Site is for adults: school leaders, educators, district and school-network staff, and parents looking for information for their school. The Site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (see Section 10).
3. Information we collect
3.1 Information you give us
a) Free guide signup (e.g. What Am I Actually Seeing? A Principal's Field Guide)
- Work email (required)
- First name (required)
- School name (optional)
- A hidden referral or network tag recording which partner (e.g. a diocese or school association) or campaign link brought you to the page. We use it to know which partner shared the guide and to tailor the welcome emails. We don't use it to identify you to that partner. [Raghu to confirm whether network partners receive any signup data, e.g. counts or names.]
b) School enrollment and checkout (/enroll)
To enroll a school or book the standalone first session, we ask for: your school (selected from our school list), your name, role, work email, phone number (optional), and your school's number of teachers (which sets the membership tier). You then pay by card through our payment processor (Section 5). We do not receive or store your full card number. The processor gives us limited payment details, such as the amount, date, payment status, and the last four digits and brand of your card. [Raghu to confirm exactly which fields the processor returns.]
Billing page (/billing)
To view receipts, update your card, or manage your annual membership, you enter the work email used at enrollment on our billing page, and we email you a secure link. We use that email address to check it against our enrollment records and send the link [Raghu to confirm it is used for nothing else]. Card updates made through the link are handled by our payment processor, [PAYMENT PROCESSOR]. [Raghu to confirm how long billing links stay valid and whether billing-link requests are logged.]
c) Booking a 15-minute call
If you book a call, we collect the details the booking form asks for (e.g. name, email, school, preferred time, and anything you choose to tell us), through [SCHEDULER].
d) Podcast
- Episode-launch updates: if you use "Email me when episodes launch," we collect your email address.
- Guests: if we invite you to be a guest, our private invitation page collects your email address, phone number (optional), chosen recording time, and any topics you'd like to discuss. Recordings are made through [RECORDING PLATFORM: the invitation page names Riverside, Raghu to confirm]. If you appear on the podcast, your voice, image, name, and what you say may be published, as agreed with you before recording. [Raghu to confirm whether guests sign a release.]
e) Contacting us
If you email or call us, we keep your message, contact details, and our reply.
f) Training and membership participation
For member schools, we may receive staff names, work emails, and attendance for live sessions and certificates of completion. We also receive staff responses to the baseline and end-of-program reassessment, which measure staff knowledge and school practices. [Raghu to confirm whether reassessment responses are collected by name or anonymously, and on which platform.]
3.2 Information we do not collect through our free tools
- "What am I seeing?" works entirely in your browser. You pick a description, and the Site shows guidance. We do not save your selections.
- "What is it costing?" estimator. The numbers you enter (teacher count, office referrals, teacher departures, and your adjusted assumptions) are used in your browser to calculate the estimate. They are not sent to us. "Get this as an email" and "Copy this" only produce text for you to copy and send yourself.
- Readiness check. Your answers stay in your browser and are not sent to us.
3.3 Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, our hosting and analytics tools automatically collect technical information. This includes the page you visit and the page that referred you, your browser's user agent, your language/locale, an approximate country inferred from your device's time zone, a random session identifier, page-performance measurements, and your IP address as part of normal web requests. See Section 6 for cookies and analytics.
3.4 Public school information (the Registry)
Our school registry lists schools using publicly available, school-level information, such as school name, school code, county, grades, school type, enrollment figures, and Attention-Ready status. It contains no information about individual students. [SOURCE OF REGISTRY DATA: Raghu to confirm, e.g. state public school records.]
4. How we use information
We use information to:
- send you the resource you requested and our welcome emails (Section 7);
- process enrollments, payments, receipts, and renewals, and deliver the program;
- schedule and hold calls, podcast recordings, and training sessions;
- respond to your questions;
- issue certificates of completion, and run the baseline and reassessment and their reports;
- understand how the Site is used and keep it secure, working, and free of abuse;
- comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect our rights.
We do not sell personal information. We do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. [Raghu to confirm. No advertising pixels were found on the Site on 30 Oct 2026.]
5. How we share information
We share information only:
- with service providers that help us run the Site and program, under contracts that limit their use of the data:
- payment processing: [PAYMENT PROCESSOR]
- website hosting, database, and analytics: [HOSTING / DATABASE / ANALYTICS PROVIDERS]
- email delivery: [EMAIL PLATFORM]
- scheduling: [SCHEDULER]
- podcast recording: [RECORDING PLATFORM]
- with your school or district, where your school or district enrolls and the information relates to its membership (e.g. attendance and completion records, and the school's own reassessment report);
- publicly, for the registry and designation (school-level only), and for published podcast episodes with the guest's agreement;
- for legal reasons, when required by law or to protect rights and safety;
- in a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or reorganization, subject to this Policy.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:
| Purpose | What it does | Provider | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary / security | Distinguishes people from bots and protects the Site | [CDN/SECURITY PROVIDER] | about 30 minutes |
| Analytics | Counts page visits and measures page performance using a random session ID; collects page URL, referrer, browser, language, and approximate country | [ANALYTICS PROVIDER] | session ID about 30 minutes |
| Payments (on /enroll only) | Processes your card securely and helps prevent fraud | [PAYMENT PROCESSOR] | set by the processor |
| Fonts | Loads web fonts; your browser connects to the font provider, which receives your IP address | [FONT PROVIDER] | n/a |
We do not use advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The Site will still work, but checkout may need cookies to complete. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. [Raghu to confirm, and confirm whether to offer a cookie banner.]
7. Emails and how to unsubscribe
If you request a free resource, we'll send it by email, followed by a short series of welcome emails (currently three) about classroom attention support and our program, including the standalone first session and annual membership. These come from Raghu Misra via [EMAIL PLATFORM]. If you sign up for podcast updates, we'll email you when episodes launch.
To unsubscribe, click "unsubscribe" in any marketing email, or email raghu@attention-institute.com with "unsubscribe" in the subject. We'll stop marketing emails promptly [within 10 business days]. We may still send transactional messages about an enrollment, receipt, renewal, billing link, booking, or request you made.
8. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, unless the law requires otherwise:
- Guide and podcast-update signups: until you unsubscribe, or [24] months after your last engagement, whichever comes first. [Raghu to set]
- Enrollment, billing, and receipt records: for the membership term plus [7] years for tax and accounting. [Raghu to set]
- Training attendance, certificates, and reassessment records: for [X] years after the membership ends, so we can reissue certificates and reports. [Raghu to set]
- Call and podcast-guest booking details: [12] months after the call or recording. Published episodes stay published unless we agree otherwise. [Raghu to set]
- Emails and inquiries: [24] months. [Raghu to set]
- Analytics data: [X] months, or as set by [ANALYTICS PROVIDER]. [Raghu to set]
9. Your choices and rights
Everyone. You can ask us to:
- access the personal information we hold about you, and get a copy;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- opt out of marketing emails at any time.
We don't sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
US state privacy rights. Depending on where you live, state law (for example in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Florida, and other states) may give you additional rights. These can include the right to know what we collect and why, to correct and delete it, to get a portable copy, to opt out of its sale, "sharing," targeted advertising, or profiling, and to appeal our decision on your request. Some of these laws may not apply to us, but we will honor these requests from any US resident. We won't discriminate against you for using your rights.
How to make a request. Email raghu@attention-institute.com with the subject "Privacy request" [or PRIVACY CONTACT], or call 904-842-4632. We'll verify your request, usually by confirming the email address you used with us, and respond within [45] days. You can use an authorized agent with your signed permission. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision. We'll respond to appeals within [60] days.
10. Children's and student privacy
Children. The Site and our program are for adults. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 as defined by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Students: we collect no student data. Attention-Ready Schools does not collect, request, or store personal information about students. Our training, tools, and reports are about educators and school practices, not individual students. Our registry contains only public, school-level information. [Raghu to confirm. See the conflict list below.]
Please do not share student information with us. When you take part in training, case discussions, office hours, calls, podcast conversations, or email, please describe situations without names or details that could identify a student, and use only de-identified examples. We do not ask schools to give us education records, as defined by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). If any student information is shared with us anyway, we will not use it for any purpose other than responding in that moment. We will not add it to our records, and on request we will delete it. [If a school or district requires a data-privacy agreement, we will review it with them.]
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and processing card payments through [PAYMENT PROCESSOR] rather than on our own servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
12. Where data is processed
We are based in the United States, and our service providers process data in the United States [and other countries where they operate]. The Site is intended for US schools. [Raghu to confirm.]
13. Links to other sites
The Site links to other websites and services (e.g. podcast platforms such as Apple Podcasts and Spotify, and our partners). Their own privacy policies apply.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. We'll post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date, and where changes are significant, we'll notify you by email or on the Site.
